5 Things: DIY Halloween costumes

Halloween is just around the corner, so here are some easy and fun DIY costumes you can create with things you can find around your home for less than the price of a store-bought costume.

  1. GUMBALL MACHINE

For this costume you will need:

  • colorful polka dotted tank top
  • red skirt
  • red shoes
  • colorful Pom Pom balls

Instructions:

  • sew or glue the Pom Pom balls to your shirt
  • Put on your shirt
  • put on your red skirt
  • put on your red shoes
  • style your hair and you are ready to go!

        2. STARBUCKS DRINK

For this costume you will need:

  • brown dress and shoes
  • Starbucks logo print out
  • White boa
  • cardboard paper shaped like a straw
  • headband

Instructions:

  • take your headband and hot glue your green strip of cardboard paper to the side of your headband
  •  go on the internet and print out a Starbucks logo.
  • add the Starbucks logo with tape to the center of your dress
  • put on your brown dress
  • put on your boa
  • put on your shoes

        3. JELLY BELLY

For this costume you will need:

  • colorful balloons
  • clear trash bag big enough to put around your body
  • black shirt
  • jelly belly logo print out
  • black pants
  • black tennis shoes

Instructions:

  • print out a Jelly Belly logo and tape it to the bottom of your trash bag
  • blow up a bunch of colourful balloons (half way)
  • put on your black shirt, pants, and tennis shoes
  • then cut the bottom out of the trash bag and slip it over your head to cover the top of your body
  • carefully slip balloons inside

        4. STRAWBERRY

For this costume you will need:

  • red dress
  • green shoes
  • crazy green hat
  • white paint

Instructions:

  • paint white dots onto your dress in the style of strawberry seeds (allow time to dry before wearing!)
  • put on your dress, shoes, and hat
  • style your hair and makeup however you like

        5. PIÑATA

For this costume you will need:

  • colorful striped sweater
  • red leggings or pants
  • colorful party hat 
  • streamers
  • brown shoes

Instructions:

  • glue streamers to the top of the party hat
  • put on sweater, red leggings, and shoes
